Head of Payment Services

Job Title: Head of Payment Services Location: Central London (Hybrid - 2 days per week in office)Salary: £120,000 per annum + Bonus + BenefitsContract: Permanent, Full Time

A growing, forward thinking financial services company is seeking an experienced Head of Payment Services to lead and evolve its finance operations function. This role will drive operational excellence, payment transformation, and process automation across a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Finance Operations team.
• Oversee end-to-end payment processes and third party relationships.
• Deliver finance transformation and automation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with payment regulations and internal controls.
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across finance ops.

What We're Looking For

• The ideal candidate will come from a Payments background within a FCA Regulated environment with proven experience in payments and finance operations leadership (minimum 5 years experience)
• Deep understanding of payment flows and experience implementing automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of payment schemes (e.g. BACS, SWIFT, Faster Payments).
• Strong knowledge and experience in P2P, O2C and R2R.
• Hands-on experience with automation and finance transformation.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience in consumer finance or credit card environments.
