We are supporting a large pension provider who is currently delivering large-scale, high-impact services to millions of customers across the UK. With a growing market presence, the organisation is entering an exciting phase of transformation, investing in new digital propositions and long-term strategic programmes.

As part of this journey, they are seeking a Senior Programme Manager to lead a complex, multi-year digital transformation programme, focused on developing and delivering new retirement products.

The Role

This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for overseeing the planning, mobilisation and delivery of a large, multi-workstream programme. You will operate at a senior level, working closely with executive stakeholders, sponsors, and third-party partners to ensure successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of a complex, multi-year digital programme
  • Oversee multiple projects and workstreams, ensuring alignment to strategic goals
  • Manage senior stakeholders across business, technology, and external partners
  • Drive programme governance, reporting, risk, and issue management
  • Ensure supplier and vendor deliverables are effectively managed
  • Lead and support project teams, including direct line management of senior project managers
  • Embed strong programme disciplines, methodologies, and continuous improvement

About You

We are looking for an experienced programme leader who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments.

Essential experience

  • Experience in pensions, retirement, or financial services
  • Proven experience delivering large, complex, multi-year programmes
  • Strong background in cross-functional delivery and stakeholder management at senior level
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to structure and lead programmes from mobilisation through to delivery
  • Strong governance, planning, and reporting expertise
