£60k–£100k base + meaningful equity

We're building an AI-driven energy orchestration platform for real estate portfolios — connecting buildings, hardware, and markets to optimize energy use at scale.

We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to architect and build the foundational systems of the platform. This is a hands-on role with a clear path to CTO, designed for someone ready to move from senior IC into technical leadership at a mission-driven energy startup.

What You'll Do

• Architect and build production-grade platform infrastructure
• Design systems for real-time data ingestion, reliability, and scale
• Integrate with IoT and energy hardware systems
• Make foundational architectural decisions as the platform scales
• Grow into engineering leadership and CTO responsibility

What We're Looking For

Platform Engineering at Scale

• Experience building core platforms, not just features
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and integrations

IoT / Energy Systems (Strong Plus)

• Experience with IoT devices, sensor data, or physical infrastructure
• Comfort working close to hardware and real-world constraints

CTO Growth Trajectory

• Ambition to evolve from senior IC → CTO
• Ownership mindset, comfort with ambiguity, startup mentality

Data & Forecasting Awareness

• Exposure to time-series data, forecasting, or predictive modeling
• Ability to collaborate on AI-driven optimization systems

Startup Compensation Mindset

• Comfortable with £60k–£100k base, balanced by significant equity
• Equity range 0.5–2%, calibrated by experience, impact, and salary preference
• Motivated by long-term upside rather than short-term cash maximization

Location

• London-based preferred, or able to be in London ~3 days/week
• Hybrid setup with regular in-person collaboration
