An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital and Transformation Lead to work across our member practices and PCNs. The post will focus on supporting digital transformation, identifying innovative solutions, and helping to reduce health inequalities.
As a Digital Transformation Lead, you will play a key role in driving digital development across our Primary Care Networks. You will help improve patient access, enhance digital systems, and promote data-driven decision-making to support better patient outcomes.
Main duties of the job
Main Responsibilities
- Identify and deliver digital solutions to support the development, resilience, and future proofing of PCNs in line with local, regional, and national priorities.
- Improve adoption of new technologies to enhance patient access, experience, and PCN productivity.
- Ensure PCNs and member practices align with national policy on digital priorities.
- Oversee reporting and manage issues highlighted from practice system searches.
- Keep PCN Boards updated on performance and delivery of the PCN DES and other local/national reporting requirements.
- Increase take-up of digital services, such as online repeat prescriptions and appointment booking.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and Data Protection Regulations, including the use of DPIAs and Data Sharing Agreements.
- Support practices in making best use of SystmOne and other practice systems to improve efficiency.
- Advise PCN management on digital developments and service improvement opportunities.
- Stay up to date with all requirements of the ARRS Digital and Transformation Lead role.
- Lead on accessing and interpreting national and ICB data platforms (e.g. RAIDR) to inform PCN planning and support the activity of INTs
- Present and communicate data effectively to increase understanding of performance and population health.
- Identify and interpret variation in care to support discussions on quality improvement.
- Use data to identify and address health inequalities across the patient population.

SALARY: Negotiable depending on experience, circa £34,000 to £40,000

Two days per week will be dedicated to work with Durham East PCN.
Cover for sickness and annual leave across the business functions will be expected as part of this role.

Working Conditions

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Qualifications:
- Degree level or management qualification/training or experience for working at graduate level.
- Knowledge:
- High knowledge of Data Protection Regulations/GDPR.
- A track record of communicating and engaging with a wide range of staff and stakeholders building excellent, trusted relationships.
- An ongoing commitment to improving NHS services for the benefits of patients.
- A good understanding of how general practice fits into the wider health and social care agenda.
- A good understanding of the national agenda/deliverables of general practice and Primary Care Networks.
- Experience:
- Experience of interpreting national and/or system level policy and implementing this through local programmes of work.
- Good understanding of the Digital Agenda across Health and Social Care Systems.
- Experience in delivering IT projects across multiple sites of departments.
- Previous experience of using SystmOne.
- Skills:
- Ability to extract, collate, visualise and use data and insight to both drive change and to understand and adapt programmes of work.
- Ability to work and make decisions.
- autonomously and to identify and act on challenges to move delivery forward, potentially working to tight timelines.
- Ability to understand, interpret and present complex and/or sensitive information.

- A good understanding of Microsoft Office.
- A high degree of experience in the use of SystmOne, including creating and running clinical reports, creating data entry templates, and extrapolating data to support practices in achievement of local and national targets.

- Experience of working in general practice with good working knowledge of general practice IT systems (including IT, digital and BI tools), processes and procedures or; experience of successfully delivering change and improvements in a patient facing environment.
