Head of Performance Marketing

Central Employment are working with a leading Glasgow based Digital Marketing and Web Development agency, as they look to appoint a Head of Performance Marketing, reporting into the SLT, managing a team of SEO & Paid Media experts.
We are looking for a forward-thinking Head of Performance Marketing to lead my clients digital growth and brand presence. You will be a strategic powerhouse, comfortable navigating the intersection of traditional performance marketing and the rapidly evolving AI landscape. You'll be responsible for scaling our reach, managing a talented team, and ensuring every pound spent translates into measurable success.
Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Own and execute the comprehensive marketing roadmap, managing substantial budgets and ensuring alignment with business KPIs.
  • Omnichannel Growth: Oversee SEO, Paid Media (Search, Social, Display), and Affiliate programmes to drive high-quality traffic and conversions.
  • Future-Proofing: Lead our GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and AI integration strategies to ensure we stay ahead of shifts in search behaviour and operational efficiency.
  • Performance Analysis: Build and maintain monthly performance reports using Google Data Studio (Looker Studio), providing actionable insights.
  • Conversion Excellence: Work closely with product/web teams on Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) to streamline the user journey and increase onsite value.
  • Stakeholder Management: Confidently pitch new strategies, budget increases, or creative concepts to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Team Mentorship: Manage, inspire, and develop an in-house team (and/or agency partners), fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Metasearch (Bonus): Manage or oversee Metasearch channels to capture high-intent traffic.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in a senior marketing role, ideally within a fast-paced environment. Experience in Hospitality Marketing is a major plus.
  • Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of SEO and Paid Media mechanics. You don't need to be a coder, but you must understand how AI is changing the digital ecosystem.
  • Analytical Mindset: Expert-level ability to interpret data, manage complex budgets, and translate \"marketing-speak\" into business results.
  • Trend Hunter: A natural curiosity for emerging tech and digital trends; you're the person who knows what's coming next before it hits the mainstream.
  • Communication: Exceptional pitching and reporting skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
