This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK office of a Japanese manufacturer in an R&D-focused role within next-generation connectivity and digital services.
The position involves researching advanced technologies and market trends in Europe, and helping shape new service and technology applications for wider global use.
In addition to research activities, the role also supports cross-functional project delivery and practical implementation in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Next-Generation Connectivity R&D Position Main Responsibilities
This role covers a broad range of activities across technology research, validation, and project support within the next-generation connectivity and digital field.
- Conduct research into advanced and emerging technologies
- Support validation and PoC activities for new technologies and services
- Prepare internal technical documents and proposal materials
- Manage and improve cloud-based and test environments
- Coordinate projects with internal departments and stakeholders
- Analyse technology trends and market developments
- Explore new service ideas and potential use cases
- Collaborate and share information with global teams
- Work with external partners and research organisations
- Attend meetings, events, and workshops as required
Next-Generation Connectivity R&D Position Ideal Candidate
<Required>
- Experience in IT, networking, software, cloud, or a related technical field
- Experience in technical research, validation, or R&D activities
- Experience leading or driving projects independently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders
- Ability to explain technical topics clearly in writing and verbally
- Self-motivated and able to work proactively
- Right to work in the UK
- Valid UK driving licence

- Knowledge or experience of cloud platforms and API integration
- Experience with PoC, MVP, or prototype validation
- Experience in commercial service or product development
- Experience using cloud platforms such as AWS
- Master’s degree or PhD
- Experience working in an English-speaking environment
- Understanding of Japanese companies or experience working with a Japanese headquarters
