AI Product Owner

We're looking for an AI Product Manager / Owner to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of cutting-edge machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI products that drive tangible business value and exceptional customer experiences.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of Centrica's AI ambition - shaping product vision and strategy, turning bold ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions, and helping the organisation harness AI safely and effectively at scale.

The role is accountable for defining and prioritising product backlogs, translating business requirements into clear product features, and ensuring delivery through agile ways of working. It requires strong cross-functional collaboration with data scientists, engineers, architects, legal, privacy, and business stakeholders to design and launch scalable AI and ML solutions that solve meaningful customer and commercial problems.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own and evolve the vision, roadmap, and prioritisation of AI and ML products aligned to business goals and user needs.
  • Translate business problems into clear product requirements, features, and experiments.
  • Lead delivery through agile ways of working with cross-functional product, data, and engineering teams.
  • Balance near-term delivery with long-term innovation through effective backlog management.
  • Monitor adoption, performance, and value, using insight to continuously improve outcomes.
  • Embed responsible AI, privacy, governance, and compliance throughout product delivery.
  • Identify emerging AI opportunities and progress them into the product pipeline.
  • Drive experimentation through prompt design, context optimisation, and rapid prototyping using LLM-assisted tools.

Here's who we're looking for:

  • Relevant experience in AI, ML, or digital product roles.
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery, backlog management, and cross-functional product development.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value and stakeholder decisions.
  • Working knowledge of AI ethics, data governance, privacy, and regulated delivery environments.
  • Strong commercial judgement, customer focus, and prioritisation skills.

The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and requires strong judgement in solving ambiguous problems. It must balance technical feasibility, user needs, strategic value, and commercial priorities in a fast-changing AI landscape. The role has no direct people management responsibility, but it works across a broad community of specialists and stakeholders to influence delivery and value realisation.
