Data Protection Analyst - 12 Month Contract

We have an exciting entry level opportunity to join our Privacy Team as a Data Protection Analyst on a 12-month secondment/fixed-term contract basis. In this role you will be part of our legal function who deliver Centrica's strategy and protect Centrica's interests by enabling effective, risk-based decision making. We do this by providing expert professional advice and commercially minded insight that helps the company navigate our legal, regulatory and compliance environments.

Salary: £36,329 per annum

Location: With our Flexible First working arrangements we empower our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them. As such, this role can be mostly based at home but you must be flexible to travel as required across our UK sites and to Ireland as may be needed.

In this role you will provide excellent quality and timely advice and support to the business, customers and the Data Protection Manager.

What will you do?

  • Managing data subject rights requests, promptly and within statutory time frames
  • Managing legal data disclosure requests in line with legal requirements and Centrica policy
  • Supporting the business in dealing with customer and employee complaints relating to data privacy
  • Supporting the business and the Data Privacy Office in managing data privacy breaches and complaints from the Information Commissioner's Office
  • Providing good quality and timely advice to the business on data privacy matters
  • Supporting our Data Protection Manager in Data Privacy and Operation with the implementation of the Global Privacy Programme, and data privacy projects

Here's what we're looking for:

  • The ability to demonstrate initiative, be self-motivating with strong organisation skills, prioritise a varied workload and will need to be able to review data in a creative and engaging manner.
  • You will have the ability to build strong relationships with the business and have a flexible commercially focused approach with the ability to identify and resolve risks.
  • To be successful you will enjoy working in a structured, logical and organised way. You will be expected to reassess processes and pitch these to the Data Protection Manager.
  • Ideally you will have experience in successfully interpreting analysis, communicating results and trends at all levels across the functions in a non-technical manner.
  • A good knowledge of In-House data privacy, preferably with specialist data privacy qualifications would be desirable but not essential.
