IT Analyst
My International financial services client is seeking an IT Analyst with strong networking experience to join the IT Team in the London offices ( Moorgate area ) Ideally candidates will have support and management experience of Trading Platforms such as CQG, TT, ATP etc
The responsibilities of the IT Analyst will include operating, managing and developing the clients IT and Telephony infrastructure, services and end-user environment in order to allow the business to operate efficiently and to grow and change in line with business requirements.
You will liaise with business and vendors to support/manage the application environment for front, middle and back office, and control functions, including system integration between different platforms and data sources.
You will also ensure best practice regarding security, resilience, scalability, cost effectiveness and compliance both with regulatory requirements and Group directives and standards.
Key Duties of the IT Analyst
- Handling incidents, problems and requests relating to the end-user computing environment.
- User account admin, and new user setups.
- Daily checks to ensure availability and health of systems and services.
- Management, monitoring, operation, development and troubleshooting of the technical environment, to reduce incidents and ensure smooth operation.
- Desktop/laptop/office equipment
- Microsoft 365 applications
- Exchange Online
- Azure servers, gateways and services (backup, site recovery etc)
- Active Directory (users, GPOs etc)
- Remote access VPNs, RADIUS authentication, 2FA
- Switches, firewalls and WLAN
- Site-to-Site VPNs
- IP Phone system
- Printers
- Business systems (front, middle and back office, and control functions)
- Python scripts
- Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
- Development and operation of scripted file handling.
- System documentation and ongoing updates.
- Delivery of IT application/infrastructure projects to meet changing business requirements.
- Driving staff awareness of security best practice.
- Ensuring compliance with current and future FCA, LME and other market-specific requirements.
- Participating in Exchange-mandated system and failover testing.
- Liaise with vendors to plan and implement work, and to follow up to ensure service levels, and ongoing compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Ongoing knowledge update both online and through attendance of relevant industry/exchange events.
Required Skills and Experience
- Good knowledge of Microsoft server, end-user and cloud (Azure) technologies and services, and Active Directory.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment and underlying mechanisms (registry, profiles, services, policy objects etc).
- Good knowledge of Cisco network/firewall equipment, and VPN configuration
- Experience of supporting/managing trading platforms (eg CQG, TT, ATP)
- Knowledge of Windows Batch file scripting
- Knowledge of Python scripting
- Knowledge of SQL Server operation
- Knowledge of LINUX operation
- Knowledge of security solutions and best practice.
- Experience analysing complex issues and solving problems to resolution.
