Job Title: Cabling Engineer - AI Infrastructure (Contract) Location: UK/ Europe Duration: Up to 10 weeks Contract Type: Fixed-term / Contract
About the Role:We are seeking highly skilled Cabling Engineers with a strong background in deploying and maintaining infrastructure to support AI, cloud computing, and data-intensive environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in structured cabling, fibre optics, and the installation of enterprise-grade networking systems within data centres or edge computing environments.
You’ll be working closely with infrastructure architects, data centre technicians, and network engineers to ensure robust and tidy installations that meet enterprise standards. Key Responsibilities:-
Install and terminate copper and fibre cabling to support high-performance AI compute systems

Route, secure, and label cables in accordance with industry standards (TIA/EIA)

Rack and stack network, compute, and storage hardware

Perform cable testing, certification, and troubleshooting as needed

Interpret technical drawings, rack elevation diagrams, and cabling schematics

Collaborate with internal teams to align installation timelines and dependencies

Maintain clean, well-organized cabling pathways and documentation

Proven experience in structured cabling within data centres or enterprise environments

Strong knowledge of CAT6/6A, fibre optics (single-mode/multi-mode), patch panels, and cable management

Familiarity with rack layouts, airflow considerations, and best practices for cable dressing

Comfortable using tools like cable testers, crimpers, fiber cleavers, and fusion splicers

Understanding of network topologies and equipment (e.g., switches, servers, PDUs)

Previous work on large-scale AI, HPC, or cloud infrastructure projects

Certifications such as BICSI, CNCI, or similar

Familiarity with AI-focused hardware (e.g., GPU clusters, NVIDIA infrastructure)

Ability to work independently and meet tight deployment time lines
