World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage is currently looking to recruit 2x Software Engineer subcontractors on an initial 12 month contract, with very likely extension. The role will be onsite 4 days per week. A 4 day working week is OK (Monday to Thursday).Rate: £65.00 per hourOvertime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at time and a quarterLocation: StevenageHybrid / Remote working: The role will be onsite 4 days per week.

And, in a collaborative and close-knit culture, we support each other to search for better.You will be responsible for designing and developing Test equipment software to test the world leading and Complex missile systems and sub-components.Responsibilities:Designing and developing Test Equipment software to test world leading complex missile systems and sub-components;Working with a wide range of teams and stakeholders to deliver test software capability of products from early concept to production;Exploring and experimenting with new implementations and technologies to meet the ever-challenging customer requirementsChallenging and implementing real change when opportunities arise in the way the software is developed both within test software and the wider software communityEmbracing Agility and delivering value to the company giving you are real sense of achievementWorking in a Software Engineering office / lab environment engaging with test equipment and electronic circuitry.Skillset/experience required:Previous software engineering experience in the development of test solutionsStrong ability to write software in C / C++; scripting languages would be an advantage to our future direction.Previous experience working in an agile development team.A strong understanding of what is required to create high quality software and the ability to support quality practicesA good understanding of automation, continuous integration and DevOps principles and practicesKnowledge of electronics measurement and debug techniques using equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analysersTPBN1_UKTJ
