Senior Business Analyst
Senior Business Analyst – Contract
Location: Newcastle (Hybrid – minimum 60% onsite)
Contract length: 12 months
We are supporting a newly established public sector authority delivering a high‐profile, sensitive programme with real societal impact. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a fast‐moving digital delivery environment, helping to shape and scale a user‐centred service from the ground up.
This is a senior‐level role operating in an environment without legacy systems, requiring strong analytical judgement, confidence working with ambiguity, and the ability to collaborate closely with policy, legal, and delivery teams.
The Role
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work at pace within a multi‐disciplinary team, undertaking end‐to‐end business analysis to support the design, development, and iteration of a digital service.
You will help identify gaps in services and operating models, explore feasible options, and define success measures to support delivery. The role requires balancing user needs, business objectives, and policy constraints, while ensuring solutions align with organisational strategy and outcomes.
You will play a key role in enabling teams to work effectively using Agile ways of working and supporting delivery in a test‐and‐learn environment.
Your Experience
You will bring substantial experience operating at Senior Business Analyst level within a digital, Agile environment, with the ability to work with limited direction and drive analysis through to delivery.
You will be comfortable:
- Working on complex or sensitive programmes
- Engaging confidently with senior stakeholders and managing competing priorities
- Horizon‐scanning to identify business and policy constraints and assessing their impact
- Translating strategic objectives into clear business and user needs
- Supporting service design, development, and testing activity
Experience working close to policy and legal teams, and contributing to operating model development or organisational change, will be highly beneficial.
You may also have experience supporting communities of practice or mentoring other Business Analysts.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working, with minimum 60% onsite presence in Newcastle
- Long‐term contract assignment
- Role suited to candidates seeking meaningful, high‐impact work within the public sector
