Manual Data QA
Overview Join Chambers and Partners as a Manual Data QA Analyst and play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our data across industry-leading products and platforms. You’ll be responsible for validating complex data flows, particularly within our Databricks environment through meticulous manual testing. This is a critical position within our growing Technology & Data team, ideal for someone passionate about data quality and eager to make an impact in a globally respected organisation. Experience with Power BI and/or Data Lakehouse architectures would be a strong advantage. Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Testing Execution: Conduct detailed manual tests to validate data flows and processing within the Databricks platform. Ensure that data integrity, accuracy, and consistency are maintained across all stages of data handling.
- Strategy and Planning: Assist in developing and defining the QA testing strategy and test plans specifically tailored for continuous data verification and validation.
- Issue Resolution: Identify, document, and track data discrepancies and inconsistencies. Collaborate with development and data engineering teams to facilitate the resolution of issues.
- Quality Standards: Ensure all tests and procedures meet company-wide QA standards and advocate for best practices in manual testing environments.
- Reporting: Provide comprehensive reports on test results, including documentation of detected data anomalies and assessment outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other QA team members, data engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration of new data solutions into existing systems.
- Proven experience in testing data migrations, database implementations, and Data Lake environments.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, especially Azure, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience in writing complex queries for data validation and testing.
- Proficiency in data validation techniques and the ability to identify and troubleshoot data quality issues.
- Experience or familiarity with integrated test automation tools and frameworks.
- Familiarity with performance testing methodologies and tools for assessing database load and system scalability.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality testing and accurate results.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Worked in a consumer facing industry (ideally publishing, media or data)
- Able to initiate and deliver test improvement programmes, enhancing ways of working and fundamentals for the team
