Senior Product Designer

Overview At Chambers and Partners, we are transforming how the legal profession understands and uses data. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our data and analytics platform team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about creating intuitive and impactful products that help law firms unlock powerful insights, benchmark competitors, and discover new opportunities. In this position, you will take full ownership of the design process, from research and concept development to prototyping and final delivery. Your work will shape new product propositions and drive continuous improvements in user experience. You will be part of a collaborative cross-functional team, working closely with product managers, engineers, analysts, and legal market experts to turn complex data into accessible and valuable tools. You will report directly to the Director of Product Design and join a growing team of designers who are committed to innovation and excellence across all of our digital products. Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • You will take on leading the mission of supporting legal CMO’s and Business Development professionals in a user centered way within our ‘Improve’ team. This team ensures firms can make use of the data Chambers collects when creating legal firm business and marketing strategies.
  • You have autonomy to shape product for customers and users aiming at desirability, and support internal team in their transformation of service delivery. You will be responsible for the end-to-end service design, UX, UI and prototyping for any product delivered through the product team, ensuring seamless and intuitive user experiences.
  • You will collaborate closely with FE engineers to develop accessible, scalable and sustainable design solutions that balance innovation with feasibility.
  • You will collaborate with data engineering and technical architects to investigate and include NLP and LLM inclusion in the data collection, analysis and storytelling process. 
  • You own the implementation and evolution of the brand within your products. You will define the visual language: typography, colour, iconography, components and patterns. Specifically to this area, you will collaborate with other designers in data products to define the Chambers approach to data visualisation for the legal sector. Finally, you will join in the support the rest of the product design team in generating a cohesive experience for users across all products.
  • Conduct user research when needed to generate qualitative insights and collaborate with our Product Data Analyst to integrate quantitative insights. Together building a robust, evidence-based design approach.
  • Drive design facilitation within your product area. Effectively communicate and collaborate with the team around you, working together towards a shared goal. Generate a sense of shared responsibility for the user. You will be comfortable with explaining design approach and rational.
  • Facilitating and align design ideation and prioritisation session with the team and stakeholders. Conducting wider organisational requirements gathering and other service design activities to ensure the products you create work with the wider organisation processes.
  • Working with the wider product design team in contribution to increasing the maturity of the design practice. 
Skills and Experience
  • You have demonstrable experience of working in a product team and shipping interfaces with front end teams.
  • You understand B2B product, data and business strategy creation.
  • You are happy to drive direction in the Improve product team when a user centred approach is priority and will facilitate this through the team, including stakeholders, to drive consensus and execute delivery. You are a product thinker and can shift between thinking strategically to identifying short term wins when the opportunity arises.
  • You take pride in your work to a detailed level. You are excited by problem solving and delivering clean practical interfaces. You are happy to have peers support you with critiquing to refine the outcomes.
