Senior Software Engineer – Edinburgh – up to £75K plus benefits (Remote role)

Change Digital are supporting a Global Software Technology company in their search for a Senior Software Engineer. As a senior team member, you will be actively involved in mentoring colleagues, driving architecture decisions, developing and improving features and working directly with stakeholders to deliver world-class products. Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

The company pushes the boundaries of what is possible in a browser-based application. You will be involved in the development of a key component of our document automation solution and enabling a unification of our client-side and server-side processing, using a variety of technologies including TypeScript and Node.js.

• Help to drive the engineering quality within the team.
• Collaborate with the Team Lead and Product Owner to refine and deliver the best possible solutions.
• Interact with the rest of the business to gain deep understanding of our products, customers, and users.

Requirements & Skills:

Successful candidates will have significant professional experience within a software engineering team and will be:

• Capable of delivering robust quality solutions with a high level of autonomy.
• Excellent at technical communication and collaboration.
• Excited to write a complex browser-based application.
• Passionate about great UX and UI.

Experience in the following is essential:

• 6+ years in software development, with strong expertise in C# on both .NET Framework and .NET Core platforms.
• Experience of working with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure.
• Experience of working with, analyzing and debugging production systems.
• Strong experience of web development with security-first mindset and knowledge of secure web application practices.
• Strong experience creating and consuming APIs, using patterns such as REST.
• Experience with ASP .NET MVC, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong experience using git, pull request workflows and best practices around branching and source control.
• Understanding of production system requirements for enterprise customers including performance, stability, security, and scalability considerations.
• Experience working on legacy system modernization projects.
• Hands-on experience with containerization concepts (e.g., Docker).
• Proficient in SQL Server and database performance optimization.
• SPA frameworks / libraries, preferably React
• Building complex web applications
• Git

Experience in the following is desirable:

• Azure DevOps
• Docker
• Node.js
