Electrical Engineer (HV/LV) – Data Centre / DCIM

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading data centre operator in the Greater London area, who is looking for an Electrical Engineer (HV/LV) with exposure to DCIM platforms. This role supports the operation and optimisation of critical infrastructure in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain HV/LV electrical systems in a live data centre environment
  • Use DCIM platforms to monitor infrastructure and performance
  • Support capacity planning, load balancing, and redundancy strategies
  • Analyse data to improve uptime, efficiency, and energy usage
  • Carry out planned maintenance and respond to incidents
  • Support commissioning, upgrades, and expansion projects
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain compliance with UK standards and safety regulations

Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years experience working with HV/LV systems such as UPS, switchgear, transformers, and generators
  • Previous data centre experience preferred or required
  • Familiarity with DCIM tools or infrastructure monitoring systems
  • Understanding of critical environments and uptime demands
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of capacity planning and load management
  • Relevant electrical qualifications (HNC, HND, NVQ or equivalent)
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures including permit-to-work and HV operations
  • Exposure to automation, scripting, or energy management is a plus
  • Basic understanding of cooling systems or hybrid/cloud environments beneficial
