Charing Surgery is a CQC rated outstanding Practice set in a rural location in the lovely village of Charing,Kent. Close motorway links and the train station a 2 minute walk away make it accessible from many locations across Kent and beyond.
This role is varied and covers all sorts of areas relating to the operations of the Practice. It will definitely not be dull ! no one day will be the same. The successful applicant needs to be personable, flexible and have a solid understanding of Practice operations, compliance and governance as well as have exceptional organisational skills.
You will be fully supported by the Partners, the Practice Manager and the wider team as you settle into this exciting and varied role.

In brief:
To assist the Practice Manager in the daily operational duties of the practice in line with the GMS contract; CQC and statutory responsibilities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Human resources administration
- Premises management
- Trainee timetable management
- IT management
- Intranet Management and Complaints first point of contact (admin)
Shared responsibilities will include HR; CQC, Health & Safety and Information Governance, CQC and complaints.

Charing is no ordinary GP Practice, of course we offer all the usual range of clinical services you would expect from a GP Practice but we also run additional community based clinics, to include:
- musculoskeletal (MSK)
- ultrasound
- urology
- SIPC, specialists in primary care.

There is also an on-site pharmacy, The Charing Practice Pharmacy.

One of the distinctive characteristics of Charing Surgery is its rural setting and historically broad geographical catchment. Charing practice serves approximately 11,500 patients across 21 villages and communities.
The surgery is also proud to be a part of the Ashford Rural Primary care Network. We work collaboratively across all teams to deliver exceptional services to our patients.
The practice has a multidisciplinary clinical and administrative workforce. To include 4 Partners, salaried GPs, ACPs, Nurses, HCAs and a supportive administrative and reception team. The practice has also had a longstanding role in GP training and medical education.

General practice continues to change and the post holder will be expected to assist, and at sometimes project manage new pathways, contract changes and service delivery.
Person Specification
Experience
- .Operational and site management experience of 2 years
- .Experience of running the day-to-day operations of General Practice
- .Experience of working with the general public
- .Experience of planning, implementing and monitoring new and existing service delivery pathways
- .Able to achieve individual, team and organisational goals
- .Excellent interpersonal skills to successfully manage a mutli-disciplinary team and build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- .Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines and targets
- .Excellent IT skills and understanding of Information Governance
- .Project planning and implementation skills
- .Effective resolution of issues and complaints
- .Understanding and compliance with confidentiality, equality, diversity and inclusion
- .Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- .Resilience in managing consistently high workloads and competing priorities
- .Full UK driving licence
- .Highly motivated and pro-active with the ability to use initiative and judgement
- .Experience of NHS primary care, including clinical systems

Qualifications
- 6 GCSE(or equivalent) at Grade A-C or 9-5 including English & Maths
