Working as part of our brilliant team, and reporting into our CIO, this brand new role is to take ownership of key infrastructure projects to deliver a secure, efficient end user experience, and protecting the business from risk.
You will be providing advanced technical support, trouble shooting through remote link ups, and hands on support to our infrastructure - maintaining focus on optimising performance and reliability.
Key role requirements:
- Manage the lifecycle of end-user devices, including provisioning, configuration and decommissioning.
- Provide technical support to end-user, troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues. Assist with system and application configuration and access.
- Deploy, configure and maintain essential software applications for end users, including patch management and ensuring the software is up-to-date.
- Provide advanced support for infrastructure and cloud services, including troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Assist with the design, deployment, and management of cloud-based Azure infrastructure solutions.
- Ensure the efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments, virtual machines, storage, networking, and databases.
- Perform root cause analysis of recurring infrastructure issues and provide solutions to improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with the 1st line support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Support the deployment and configuration of new infrastructure components, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
- Monitor performance, security, and availability of cloud and end user infrastructure, using industry-standard tools.
- Assist with capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization of cloud resources.
- Implement security best practices, including identity management, access controls, encryption, and backup strategies.
You must have had over 5 years experience in 2nd/3rd line infrastructure support, and hands on experience of MS Azure ideally. Strong server knowledge is a must (Windows Server) as well as networking protocols, firewalls, VPN and load balancing and virtualisation technologies.
You must have previous experience of managing and maintaining MS365 services, i.e. Exchange, Sharepoint, etc and a strong understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.
