Senior DevOps Engineer – (DevOps, Azure, Cloud, PowerShell, CI/CD, Python, AWS, Docker, Containerisation, Cloud Migration, IaC, ISO270001, Infrastructure as a Code, Kubernetes, SRE, ) – Permanent – City of London/Hybrid

Charles Simon Associates are currently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer on a permanent basis for a global business based in the City of London. Ideally a candidate will have been DevOps focused throughout their career, however someone who has worked in DevOps and SRE or Platform Engineering would also be ok depending on experience.

All candidates must either be a British Citizen or have been in the UK for the past 5 years and not require sponsorship due to this role needing to be SC Cleared.

Location: City of London, onsite twice a month

Starting salary: £90,000 - £100,000 per annum

Skills/Requirements for the Senior DevOps Engineer:

• Strong experience with Docker, Terraform and at least one major Cloud Platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Ideally Python programming or PowerShell
• Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters
• Extensive experience with modern DevOps (CI/CD, release management, automation)
• Clear understanding of Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with Helm/Kustomize/Kapitan or similar deployment tools
• Experience with Grafana/Prometheus/Splunk or similar monitoring/observability technologies
• Ability to independently deliver solutions and work effectively in cross-functional teams

Start date is ASAP for the DevOps Engineer

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for:

• Working closely with the development team to assist them with the operational requirements of deploying new and maintaining existing applications
• Communicating with hosting providers
• Maintaining existing development and testing environments
• Maintaining and improving our continuous delivery infrastructure
• Automating manual processes
• Working with Development team to help move to a Container based Micro-services oriented approach to application structure.
• Providing solutions for developers to deliver features in a scalable and reliable manner
• Ensure that we design, engineer and deliver web application platforms to support the rapid and safe development and release of high quality code.
• Enable the delivery of web applications and APIs to ensure they are maintainable, scalable, resilient and on time, to business requirements.
• Implementing the automation of the end to end deployment process.
• Using automation and proactively suggesting opportunities for automation.
• Complete and maintain Technical Documentation relating to the Infrastructure and DevOps responsibilities
