ICT Services Cyber Security Manager

Job summary

This is a new role within CWP so it is an opportunity for a cyber specialist to develop and enhance the direction we take in the coming years.

The Cyber Security Manager will have responsibility for the development and implementation of Cyber Security policies and processes in order to provide significant assurance to CWP and auditors. The post holder will ensure that processes related to the implementation and support for IT security is carried out in accordance with industry and NHS best practice.

This highly technical role will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the Cyber Security team, which will encompass both day-to-day operations and project work that feeds into the wider ICT Services agenda. It will also include matrix managing other members of the ICT Services team when required.

The role will be pivotal in evaluating and implementing new Cyber Security initiatives, acting as a liaison and subject matter expert and have responsibility for providing expert advice to ICT Support teams, senior management and other CWP colleagues.

Main duties of the job

Be the Trusts subject matter expert on cyber related topics giving guidance to the ICT Services team and the wider Trust.

Creation of new or enhancement of existing policies ensuring that they align with regional and national policies, giving guidance to internal Digital groups.

Responsible for the co-ordination of colleagues for any cyber related audits ensuring the completion of the initial audits and any subsequent recommendations.

Evaluating our existing security measures then recommending and implementing any enhancements or replacement plans.

Build a wider understanding of cyber within the Digital teams and to the wider Trust.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to master's level in a computing or similar IT-related qualification
  • ITIL foundation
  • Project Management foundation
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable
  • IT and Cyber Security based qualifications such as HCISSP, CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM, CISA, CRISC, CSSP).

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential
  • Must have a in depth knowledge of IT and Cyber Security technologies and techniques
  • Broad based technical knowledge covering all aspects of Infrastructure from networking, end user devices through to servers and data centres
  • Significant expertise in the day to-day operational support of complex IT infrastructure
  • In depth understanding of the NHS Care Cert toolkit and NHS Digital good practice guidelines
Desirable
  • Knowledge of NHS England, NCSC and Department of Health strategies, policies and guidance
  • Knowledge of Information Security Assurance in the Information Governance and DSPT Toolkit.

Experience

Essential
  • Evidence of the ability to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills that positively supports the overall vision and objectives of the Trust and Department and is an excellent leadership role model for their staff.
  • Evidence specialist knowledge and expertise of IT systems and infrastructure. This should include knowledge and expertise in design, systems implementation, IT security, IT standards and best practice
  • Working knowledge of internet security devices such as firewalls, web proxies, email filters and intrusion detection devices
Desirable
  • Relevant NHS management experience including line-managing staff
  • Experience in project management and knowledge of planning/manage ment, showing examples.
