Risk Systems Manager
Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Risk System Manager to take a leading role in developing and managing the Trust's risk information management system s.
This is a critical role at the centre of our quality governance framework. You will be the Trust's expert for its information risk management system InPhase. This will includeensuring that our technology, data, and processes work together to provide a clear, reliable, and actionable picture of organisational risk and safety.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will:
- Support the Information System Lead for InPhase inleading its configuration, optimisation, and ongoing development
- Drive full utilisation of system functionality across modules (e.g. incident reporting, risk registers, audits, policies)
- Ensure data quality, standardisation, and integrity, implementing validation rules and consistent taxonomy
- Lead system change control, upgrades, and development, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Design and deliver reports and dashboards that translate complex data into meaningful risk intelligence
- Provide expert advice and training to staff across the Trust, enabling confident and consistent use of the system
You will ensure that the risk system is not just a repository of information--but a powerful tool for insight, improvement, and assurance.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
- oEducated to degree level or equivalent in information / system management, or evidence of working towards degree-level or equivalent.
- oRelevant specialist risk management qualification
Experience
- oEducated to degree level or equivalent in information / system management, or evidence of working towards degree-level or equivalent.
- oProven experience of working with a risk information management system such as InPhase, developing the system and supporting end users.
- oProven experience of working in an NHS operational environment and managing working relationships with clinicians.
- oExperience of working in risk management systems in a large, complex organisation embracing a range of different activities.
- oProven experience of working with board members and board sub-committees, managing, and influencing non-executive directors.
- oFacilitating and supporting teams to identify, assess, and manage operational risks, including mitigation plans.
Skills and Knowledge
- oUnderstanding of risk and information management, assurance, and the concept of an 'internal control' system
- oUnderstanding of the internal and external context within which NHS bodies operate.
- oAbility to manage competing priorities, adapting to change, and to manage a number of different activities at the same time.
- oProficiency in use of databases (i.e. interrogation and report generation) and web-based systems
- oAbility to assimilate complex data received from a number of sources.
