Senior EPR Intelligence Analyst
Job summary
The Senior Intelligence Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation programme by providing high-quality analytical insight, reporting solutions and data expertise.
Working as part of the Trust's intelligence and analytics function, the postholder will support analytical workstreams aligned to clinical and operational domains, developing a deep understanding of services, pathways and organisational data to design and deliver meaningful intelligence products.
Main duties of the job
Analytical Support & Delivery Support and coordinate analytical work across clinical and operational areas, developing understanding of services, pathways and performance. Work with stakeholders to identify key questions and translate into reports, dashboards and investigations. Provide analytical advice to support decision-making and service improvement, building effective relationships across teams.
Reporting & Analysis Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and data models (e.g. Power BI). Analyse complex data from multiple sources to identify trends, risks and opportunities, presenting findings clearly to a range of audiences. Support consistent use of metrics and performance frameworks.
Data & Systems Understanding Develop knowledge of Trust data systems including EPR, PAS and operational databases. Support data integration and contribute to development of reporting aligned to modern data platforms (e.g. FDP).
EPR Support Assist with EPR implementation, including testing, validation and maintaining reporting continuity during transition.
Insight & Improvement Undertake analysis of performance, demand, capacity and patient flow. Support improvement work through clear insight and evidence.
Governance & Quality Ensure compliance with information governance and support data quality improvement.
Collaboration & Development Work collaboratively, support use of data tools, and contribute to analytical best practice and organisational priorities.

Job responsibilities
The role will support the organisation through the transition to EPR by ensuring continuity of reporting and performance intelligence, supporting testing and validation activities, and helping design the future analytical environment that will operate on the new digital platform.
The postholder will contribute to the wider development of the Trusts analytical capability, delivering robust analysis, dashboards and reporting solutions that support operational decision-making, service improvement and strategic planning.
Analytical products will primarily be developed using Power BI and modern data modelling approaches, working within the Trusts evolving data architecture including platforms such as the NHS Federated Data Platform (FDP).
Working within a highly complex healthcare data environment, the analyst will be expected to rapidly develop an understanding of multiple clinical and operational systems and apply this knowledge to deliver reliable, meaningful and actionable intelligence.
The role aligns with the NHS National Competency Framework for Data Professionals and represents a Senior Practitioner level analyst role within the organisation.
Although hybrid working is in place and available across the team, as this role will be key to the EPR programme there will be a requirement to be on site at Sherwood Forest Hospitals a minimum of 3 days per week.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Relevant qualifications in analytics, data science or related field
- Awareness of project management (PRINCE2/Agile)
- Awareness of lean/Six Sigma
Experience
- Experience in an analytical or information role
- Exposure to requirements gathering and data analysis
- Involvement in process mapping
- Experience supporting testing or implementation
- Experience working with EPR or healthcare IT
- Exposure to NHS workflows
- Experience supporting vendor/supplier activities
- Awareness of automated testing tools
Knowledge and Skills
- Good analytical skills
- Ability to translate needs into specifications with guidance
- Understanding of process modelling techniques
