Join our dynamic Digital Industries team as an experienced and qualified Specialist Technician, assisting with IT, Computing, Games and our Immersive space/VR facilities at the Central Campus of Brighton MET!

As the IT Specialist Technician, you will run a segregated network that is separated from Brighton MET college network system and will need to have knowledge in all areas of maintaining and supporting this network including security and maintenance. You will be supported by the IT department but will be responsible for this server, and for assisting the students and staff who use it. In addition, you will have a role in helping shape the Immersive space/VR facilities and inform and operate the IGLOO Immersive space and VR development computer lab. 

You will take the lead in maintaining the portfolio of IT support services offered to this department, acting as a liaison with the Brighton MET IT department. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Specialist knowledge of IT, Networking, and IT service experience.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Windows Server.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts and configuration. 
  • An understanding and appreciation for customer service principles
  • Communication skills and ability to do demonstrations and practical activities.

Work pattern: Monday to Friday, occasional evenings. The working schedule for this role will be discussed further at interview.
