Technical Presales Engineer (London Area)

As a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the commercial team by evaluating new opportunities, acting as a technical expert for clients, and contributing to winning bids for high-profile projects. You will own and explain technically complex projects, collaborating with both external stakeholders and internal teams at varying levels of technical understanding.

Recent projects have included launching apps for major broadcasters, delivering multi-channel solutions, and supporting new SVOD services for global media brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clear, detailed technical responses for new client projects, including RFPs and proposals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in client meetings, presenting workflow architectures and explaining complex concepts such as video streaming workflows and authentication management.
  • Maintain deep product knowledge to assist with technical documentation, marketing materials, and provide feedback to development teams on market trends and feature requests.
  • Document new projects via statements of work and internal documentation, and facilitate smooth handovers to project engineers.
  • Collaborate with development teams to estimate custom requirements and review third-party costs.
  • Use tools like Word, Excel, Confluence, and Postman to produce clear, comprehensive documentation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a pre-sales engineer or similar technical client-facing role.
  • Strong customer-centric mindset with a drive to exceed client expectations.
  • Solid understanding of TV, digital video broadcast, and streaming technologies (e.g., video encoding, metadata management, OTT delivery, CDNs, adaptive streaming, cloud platforms).
  • Ability to address and resolve technical issues confidently with customers.
  • Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and flexibility to work within a small, agile team.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to manage time and tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with business software tools (Jira, Microsoft Office, Confluence, Asana, or similar).

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a SaaS business environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of video streaming technologies, including transcoding, encoding, ad insertion, and metadata manipulation.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role based in Central London, with flexibility to work from home up to two days per week. Occasional travel within the UK and internationally may be required.
