Location: Manchester (Hybrid - 3 days in office)
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + 10% bonus
We’re working with a leading high street retailer who are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their growing data team. This well-established international business undergoing a major digital transformation. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimise MSSQL Server and Snowflake environments.
- Design and implement scalable database architectures and storage solutions.
- Build and maintain ETL processes for data ingestion and transformation.
- Implement robust backup, recovery, and security strategies.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align data solutions with business needs.
- Champion best practices in database administration and cloud data platforms.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in Data Engineering or Database Administration.
- Strong expertise in MSSQL Server and Snowflake.
- Proven experience in query optimisation, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools (DBT, Fivetran, Census; Alteryx desirable).
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and automation.
- Knowledge of Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Logic Apps (desirable).
- SnowPro certification and experience with Terraform or PySpark (advantageous).
