Location: Manchester (Hybrid - 3 days in office)

Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + 10% bonus

We’re working with a leading high street retailer who are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their growing data team. This well-established international business undergoing a major digital transformation. The organisation is investing heavily in data and technology to drive innovation and customer-centric solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimise MSSQL Server and Snowflake environments.
  • Design and implement scalable database architectures and storage solutions.
  • Build and maintain ETL processes for data ingestion and transformation.
  • Implement robust backup, recovery, and security strategies.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align data solutions with business needs.
  • Champion best practices in database administration and cloud data platforms.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years in Data Engineering or Database Administration.
  • Strong expertise in MSSQL Server and Snowflake.
  • Proven experience in query optimisation, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (DBT, Fivetran, Census; Alteryx desirable).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and automation.
  • Knowledge of Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Logic Apps (desirable).
  • SnowPro certification and experience with Terraform or PySpark (advantageous).
