Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with deep Hospitality Technology expertise to lead a high-impact 8-week technology diagnostic and architecture assessment. This role covers a diverse portfolio of hotel groups and a strategic UK acquisition target.
The Enterprise Architect will perform a comprehensive technology landscape assessment, document current state architecture, and develop a hospitality reference architecture. The primary goal is to identify technology rationalization opportunities, cost reductions, and M&A integration synergies across multiple hotel organizations to drive a long-term digital transformation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Landscape Assessment: Conduct a full audit of applications, infrastructure, integrations, and data architecture across three hotel organizations.
- Architectural Documentation: Document current state enterprise architecture for core hospitality systems, including Property Management Systems (PMS), CRM, Central Reservation Systems (CRS), POS, and Revenue Management Systems.
- Reference Architecture: Develop a hospitality reference architecture framework aligned with TOGAF standards and industry best practices.
- Gap Analysis: Map current technology landscapes against target architectures to identify redundancies, platform overlaps, and integration challenges.
- Rationalization Strategy: Design a strategy to consolidate applications, eliminate legacy systems, and establish a unified architecture across the portfolio.
- Synergy Identification: Identify IT synergies including shared platforms, cloud infrastructure consolidation, and data integration.
- Cost Optimization: Develop IT cost reduction strategies through vendor rationalization, license optimization, and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) analysis.
- Stakeholder Management: Lead workshops with CIOs, IT leaders, and business executives to align technology with business value creation.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years in Enterprise Architecture, Technology Architecture, or IT Strategy roles.
- Hospitality Expertise: Proven experience with hotel-specific platforms such as Opera PMS, Protel, IDeaS, Duetto, and Channel Management Systems.
- Architecture Frameworks: Hands-on experience with TOGAF, ArchiMate, or similar enterprise frameworks.
- Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in cloud architecture, specifically AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Integration Patterns: Strong knowledge of modern patterns including Microservices, APIs, ESB, and iPaaS.
- M&A Integration: Demonstrated experience integrating technology landscapes during mergers, acquisitions, or multi-organization restructures.
- Technical Consulting: Background in technology consulting or advisory services with the ability to deliver board-level outputs.
- Compliance: Understanding of GDPR and PCI-DSS within a hospitality and guest data context.
Key Deliverables
- Current State Assessment: Documentation of systems inventory, integration maps, and technical debt.
- Hospitality Reference Architecture: A blueprint defining technology standards and platform strategy.
- Rationalization Plan: A detailed report identifying system consolidation and cost-saving opportunities.
- Transformation Roadmap: A 12–36 month implementation plan including resource requirements and dependencies.
- Executive Presentation: A strategic summary of findings and financial impact for C-suite stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multi-property hotel chains or global hospitality portfolios.
- Familiarity with the UK and European hospitality technology ecosystem.
- Certifications: TOGAF 9.2, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect.
