Lead Full Stack PHP Developer - Preston Lead Full Stack PHP Developer, with excellent Laravel, PHP, JavaScript (ideally Vue.JS) & Cloud (AWS or Azure) experience is required by a leading company based in Preston. Containerisation, TDD or .NET skills would be a bonus. Due to investment and a pipeline of brand-new green field work, they need a Lead Full Stack Developer to join the team. It is a true full-stack development role!! They would also take somebody stronger / has a preference for back-end development if needed. The role will involve several software engineering projects, including taking an old legacy system and building a brand new one over the next 18 months. Essential Skills:* 5+ Years experience with PHP & Laravel * VUE.JS experience ideally * Experience in leading/mentoring junior and mid-level software developers * Excellent understanding and previous experience with using Laravel queues, authentication, task scheduling, mail integration, artisan and the best security practices within the web and Laravel ecosystem * Cloud-based development in either AWS or Azure * Unit testing (PHPUnit/pest) * Be able to produce and document clean code * CSS frameworks (TailwindCSS/Bootstrap) and in-depth experience with SCSS/SASS * Javascript experience with one or more JS frameworks (Vue, React or Angular), preferably Vue and have a good understanding of modern frontend and backend technologies * Version Control (Github/bitbucket) * Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating backend services * Proven experience in developing scalable web applications using Laravel and other web technologies * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team Desirable but not essential:
* .NET * Peer code reviews * NoSQL databases * Github profile with working samples of previously produced code * Docker * Laravel Livewire/Inertia * DevOps * Experience with security, form validation, XSS prevention, database security, session management, input validation and other OWASP guidelines You will be able to be part of something special. As the Lead, you will be given so much autonomy, and it is a true green field project. Job responsibilities include:
* Take the lead on projects, developing new software solutions to help the business move forward. * Be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions to specification and on time * Actively contribute to the continuous improvement process and drive efficiencies within the team * Peer code reviews with more junior-level developers * Uphold good development planning and procedures * Follow industry best practices and coding standards * Optimise application performance and improve user experience through innovative front-end and back-end development techniques * Assisting junior to mid-level developers when required My client is offering a starting salary between £60,000 - £70,000, depending on experience. They also provide a good benefits package, a very relaxed but dynamic working environment and a flexible hybrid working model, with no more than 2 days in the office per week (you are not tied down to the days you are in)
