Lead Test Engineer

Role: Lead Test EngineerSalary/Rate: £540-640 per day inside IR35 Location: Hybrid, 3x per week on siteContract Duration: 12-months

We are currently looking for a Payroll Analyst for our government client.

This Lead Test Engineer role is hybrid, 3 days per week in the office and the remainder of the week working remotely. There is no further flexibility with expected time on site.

Office locations include Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle, as preferred.

The contract for the Lead Test Engineer position is for 12-months, with potential to extend, operating inside IR35.

Security Clearance: eligible for Security Check (SC Clearance)

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Essential skills/experience required:

• Significant experience leading and testing micro services
• Functional and non-functional testing
• Hands on experience in automation testing
• Leadership skills - experience leading microservices transformation (not just working)
• Have experience in designing and implementing test strategy for distributed microservices from Monolith service across multiple teams
• Experience in business context / domain driven testing approach for java spring boot-based application or non JVM based application
• Experience in contract testing and component testing such as API, message based asynchronous testing such as Kafka or similar technology
• Experience in non-relational database I.e. mongo db or similar
• Strong technical automation skills with the ability to write well-structured reusable maintainable tests and test utilities (Java or TS/JS preferred).
• Have experience in non-functional experience such as performance testing (Gatling, K6) and accessibility testing
• Have experience in CI/CD pipeline

Engineering Tools and Technologies

• Cloud: AWS (primary)
• Test Frameworks: Serenity BDD (Selenium + RestAssured), Playwright
• Other tools: Spring Cloud Contract, Pactflow, Kafka, Mongodb, Browserstack
• DevOps: Gitlab, GitHub, Jenkins, Docker
• Performance testing - Gatling, K6
• Observability and Monitoring - Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus.
