Senior IT Engineer

Senior IT Engineer - MSP Location: Salford (5 days a week onsite)Salary: £35K-£40K DOE

A well-established and close-knit IT Managed Services Provider (MSP) based in Salford is looking for a Senior IT Engineer to join their growing technical team. With specialisms across IT Managed Services, Security, and their own private data centre, this MSP offers a unique opportunity to work in a technically diverse and collaborative environment.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, with proven troubleshooting experience
• Experience with server deployments in a data centre environment
• Familiarity with cPanel/Plesk and LAMP stack environments
• Basic understanding of networking principles and design
• Experience with server/computer hardware - building and troubleshooting
• A genuine desire to learn and grow within a supportive team
• Experience with Hyper-V
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable (but not essential):

• Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMWare, CloudStack, etc.)
• Experience with installation and provisioning of network, rack and hosting equipment
• Understanding of storage solutions (SAN, NAS)
• Exposure to network environments and vendor technologies
• Certifications in networking or vendor-specific technologies
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with cybersecurity, Azure 365, or team leadership is a plus

In this role, you'll act as an escalation point for the support team, contribute to technical projects, and occasionally visit client sites. The company is growing steadily, and there's a clear pathway for progression into senior project roles.
