Senior Quality Engineer

Senior Quality Engineer - Strategic, Proactive Role

Are you passionate about embedding quality into every stage of the product lifecycle - not just testing at the end? Do you thrive in environments where usability, reliability, and security are just as important as functionality? If so, this Senior Quality Engineer opportunity could be the perfect fit.

We're looking for a strategic thinker and hands-on contributor who sees quality as a shared responsibility across teams. This is not a traditional Tester role. It's a chance to design quality into the product, influence engineering practices, and collaborate across departments to ensure the highest standards are met.

This is a full-time permanent position, paying between circa £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience, with some fantastic benefits including 30 days holiday + Bank Holidays, performance bonus and annual pay reviews, life assurance, private healthcare and more.

This position is fully remote, open to UK residents only.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Embed quality proactively across the software lifecycle, focusing on usability, reliability, accessibility, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and system architects to shape test strategies and ensure quality is considered from the start.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans that explore product risks and add value through automation where appropriate.
  • Continuously raise the quality bar by identifying improvements in processes, tooling, and team practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help shape the direction of quality engineering across projects.
  • Support cross-functional teams by translating requirements into actionable quality strategies and communicating timelines and risks clearly.

What You'll Bring To The Role

  • A proactive mindset with a passion for preventing defects, not just detecting them.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, paired with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience designing and executing test plans, and a solid understanding of quality engineering principles.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • A holistic view of quality, considering everything from testability and observability to scalability and resilience.

Ideal Background

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quality engineering roles with a focus on continuous improvement and cross-team collaboration.
  • Comfortable working in agile environments and contributing to strategic quality initiatives.

Benefits include:

  • 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Competitive salary with performance bonus and annual pay reviews
  • Private healthcare and dental coverage
  • £1500 annual personal development allowance
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Generous pension scheme with employer matching contributions
  • and even more

This is a chance to join a forward-thinking team that values transparent communication, trust, and continuous learning. If you're ready to take ownership of quality and help shape the future of product excellence, we'd love to hear from you - please Apply Now and send a CV for quick review.

Should you require reasonable adjustments at any point during the recruitment process or if there is a better way for us to communicate, please do let us know.
