Senior Cisco Technical Consultant

THE ROLE
The role of the Networking and Security Senior Technical Consultant (L6) within Cisilion Professional Services is to consult, design, plan and implement technical projects. To collaborate closely with the Principal Technical Consultants, Presale Architects, and other teams as required. The Senior Technical Consultant will also support the Sales and Solutions teams to provide the technical expertise required to close sales opportunities and propose the current plan to better serve our Clients.
This will typically involve, technical presentations, solution demonstrations, solution design/configuration, proposals, bid response documentation, Statement of Work creation, HLD and LLD documentation. All colleagues must be eligible for Security Clearance and always adhere to Cisilion policies and GDPR best practices.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of hands-on SMB and Enterprise wired campus consultative design and deployment.
- Demonstrate extensive experience of designing and deploying:
- Cisco Catalyst and Nexus routing and switching, including traditional (C/D/A, 2/3 tier, collapsed core etc) deployments and software defined solutions (Cisco Software Defined Access (SDA), Catalyst Center / DNAC etc.)
- Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN and associated services
- Cisco Secure Firewall and associated components (Management, Secure Client, Policy, NAT, AMP, URL Filtering, TLS Offload, IDS/IPS etc.)
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and associated integrations (SDA, 802.1X, EAP, profiling, pxGrid etc.)
- Cisco SASE & SSE solution design and deployment
- Advanced routing, including BGP, MP-BGP, MPLS, VxLAN EVPN, ECMP, OSPF, Multicast etc.
- Advanced switching, including stacking, virtual chassis (StackWise Virtual), Spanning Tree Protocol, IGMP, QoS/CoS etc.
- VPN (Site to Site and Remote Access, IPsec & SSL)
- Have a thorough understanding of:
- Layer-3 through Layer-7 firewalling, including firewall migrations i.e. moving from Fortinet to Cisco.
- Cisco Wireless and integration with SMB and Enterprise networking
- Forward and Reverse Proxy and WAF technologies
- Network Access Control (NAC), 802.1X, EAP and PKI
- MFA/2FA/Duo
Knowledge of the following would be advantageous but not mandatory:
- Cisco DC Networking including ACI, Nexus Dashboard
- Cisco Computing, including UCS, FI, SAN, and Fibre Channel
- Cisco Hypershield
- Cisco Secure Network Analytics (Stealthwatch)
- Cisco XDR
- HPE Aruba Clear Pass Policy Manager (CPPM) and Microsoft Network Policy Server (NPS).
- Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch LAN deployments and associated management and monitoring platforms (FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer
- Palo Alto firewalls and associated management platforms (Panorama/ Strata Cloud Manager).
- Cisco Meraki solutions
- Azure public cloud networking concepts and services.
- Exposure to deploying virtual firewalls and appliances on public and private cloud platforms.
- Terraform and/or Ansible
- Leads technically from the front, setting the standard for others to follow
- Maintain industry-recognised professional-level technical relevance through project delivery, vendor certifications, technical training, vendor relationships, and industry participation.
- Exhibit exceptional skills in time management, planning, and communication.
- Demonstrate extensive commercial awareness, safeguarding Cisilion's interests in professional services delivery.
- Showcase comprehensive knowledge and experience of technical infrastructure hardware, software, and solutions.
- Deliver quality, consistency, and excellence while continuously striving for improvement.
- Bring prior experience from IT services organisations, IT channels, or value-added resellers.

- Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) / Professional (CCNP) - DevNet
- CCNP equivalent in another security vendors such as Fortinet or Palo Alto Networks
