Our client, a global energy trading firm, is seeking a Head of Pre‐Trade Data & Analytics to lead the strategy, engineering, and operation of its next-generation Pre‐Trade Data platform. The role will consolidate three core systems into a single, scalable platform used by Traders, Trading Analytics, Quants, and Algo developers for curve management, pricing, analytics, and pre-deal decision-making.

This hands-on leadership role requires a technologist with data science credibility, engineering expertise, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across Trading, Risk, Analytics, and Technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and oversee a Medallion-style platform using Python, React, ClickHouse, Kafka/event streaming, Azure/AWS, and C#/.NET.
  • Remain hands-on with design, prototyping, code reviews, and architecture decisions.

  • Ensure production stability, high service standards, KPIs, and SLAs across regions.

Required Experience

  • Solid experience in data engineering, platform architecture, or distributed systems in trading or high-data environments.
  • Hands-on Python experience and familiarity with modern frameworks; React for UI delivery.
  • Experience with streaming/event-driven architectures (Kafka) and large-scale data processing; ClickHouse or similar highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of energy trading, commodities, or financial markets.
  • Understanding of curves, market data, pricing models, algo workflows, and analytics platforms.
  • Quantitative skills in statistical modelling, machine learning, or computational analytics.
  • Experience leading multi-country engineering organisations and large-scale platform transformations.
  • Strong stakeholder management, prioritisation, and delivery discipline in fast-paced trading environments.
