Python Developer (City of London)

Python Developer – Commodities Trading | London (Hybrid) - 6-Month Contract | £650/day | Inside IR35

We’re supporting a major energy trading firm in their search for an experienced Python Developer to join their post-trade technology team on a 6-month contract. This is a key role working on a cloud-native platform supporting real-time intraday position and P&L reporting for the front office trading business.

Location: London (3 days per week onsite)

Contract Type: 6-month contract

Rate: £650/day (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure applications using modern back-end and/or front-end technologies.
• Build and support solutions on a cutting-edge AWS platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and deliver robust technical solutions to trading requirements.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline enhancements and feature releases.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and security practices.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on Python development (must be in current or most recent role).
• Strong background in commodities trading or financial services (essential).
• Experience with AWS services (S3, ECS, AppSync), Kafka, Postgres
• Object-oriented programming principles
• Agile delivery experience with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
