Bank Health Centre Receptionist
Job summary
This role helps patients and visitors get the right support when they arrive, making a real difference to their experience of care. You'll be part of the Care Coordination Customer Service team, working closely with colleagues to keep reception services running smoothly. Your work will help people feel welcomed, informed and supported from the moment they make contact. You'll also support clinical teams by ensuring appointments and enquiries are managed clearly and efficiently.
Main duties of the job
What you'll do:
- Welcome patients and visitors, providing a friendly and helpful first point of contact
- Manage a busy reception, including answering calls and handling enquiries
- Direct patients to appointments and services in a timely, clear way
- Support clinical teams with administrative tasks and coordination
- Work across sites to meet service needs, including covering leave and training
- A Level 3 qualification in Business Administration or Customer Service, or equivalent experience
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail in a busy setting
- Confident communication skills with a warm, approachable manner
- Good IT skills, including word processing to OCR Level 2 or ICDL standard
- Experience in an NHS setting is helpful, but not essential

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Service or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
- Word processing to OCR level 2 standard or ICDL
Knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge of a range of administration procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of a range of software programmes including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Knowledge of SystmOne functions and other clinical reporting systems
- Knowledge of clinic/appointment programmes
- Knowledge of making every contact count (MECC)
Experience
- Previous experience of working in an office environment and carrying out general office/administration procedures
- Previous experience of patient appointment booking systems e.g sytstmOne
- Previous NHS experience or working with the public
