Project Manager - Digital

Job summary

In this role, you'll be trusted to lead digital change that improves how services work for colleagues and the people we support. You'll be part of the Digital & Information Systems Team, working closely with clinical, operational and corporate teams. Your work will help deliver safe, practical and user-friendly digital solutions that support better care, smoother processes and a stronger experience for everyone who uses our services. You'll also play an active part in helping teams adopt new ways of working and embedding change.

Main duties of the job

What you'll do:

  • Manage a range of digital projects from planning through to delivery
  • Create and maintain project documentation such as plans, reports and business cases
  • Support the safe transition of digital solutions into everyday service use
  • Run workshops and engagement sessions to help people understand and shape digital change
  • Analyse data and feedback to support decision-making and track project benefits
What we're looking for:
  • Experience of managing projects, ideally in health or social care
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with varied partners and suppliers
  • Ability to organise work, solve problems and explain complex information clearly
  • Project management or change management training, or equivalent experience
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn new tools and systems

Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to Post Graduate Degree level or holding equivalent experience
  • Prince 2 Practitioner, or equivalent project management qualification or appropriate experience
Desirable
  • APMG Change Management Foundation, or equivalent Change Management Qualification or appropriate experience

Knowledge

Essential
  • Advance level of knowledge of current practices within healthcare
  • Experience of and high degree of skills in business development, project management and tender/funding writing
  • Understanding of health policy and social care policy and the drivers of policy change within the health and social care environment
  • Ability to process complex information in a logical order
  • Ability to discuss and explain complex issues to staff at all levels
  • Ability to record complex information in an accurate and logical manner
  • Knowledge of project management principles
  • Comprehensive IT skills (Microsoft packages) and awareness of the various IT systems utilised within health care
Desirable
  • In depth knowledge of NHS IM&T systems such as SystmOne, Dawn R4, Inform, ESR, IAPTUS

Experience

Essential
  • Demonstrable practical experience of / project management within a health and social care environment
  • Experience of developing and maintaining project documentation
  • Significant experience of communications with staff at all levels both internally and externally to support change and business growth
  • Demonstrable experience of working with commissioners and purchasing authorities
  • Demonstrable experience of working with sub-contractors and suppliers of service
  • Ability to process complex information in a logical order
  • Ability to record complex information in an accurate and logical manner
Desirable
  • Previous experience of managing/leading a team
  • Previous experience of carrying out professional supervision and development reviews
