This is an exciting opportunity to join Choice Procurement Services at a pivotal time in our journey. Following a service redesign and the launch of our Procurement Strategy, we are transforming how procurement insights, data and performance information are used to support commercial decision-making across the organisation.
As our Procurement Insights and Performance Manager, you will play a key role in developing meaningful intelligence that helps drive value, performance and continuous improvement across the procurement function. Working with procurement, finance, digital and operational colleagues, you will turn complex data into actionable insight that supports strategic priorities and better use of NHS resources.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a newly established specialist role, leading the development of procurement reporting, performance frameworks and business intelligence solutions. You will help strengthen data quality, improve visibility of procurement activity and savings, and support evidence-based decision-making at all levels of the organisation.

Main duties of the job
Join a forward-thinking procurement team at an exciting point of transformation. Following a recent service redesign and the launch of our Procurement Strategy, we are investing in data, insight and performance management to support the delivery of better commercial and operational outcomes.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with significant experience in business intelligence, performance reporting or data analysis within a complex organisation. You will be confident working with large and sometimes ambiguous datasets, developing insightful reports and dashboards, and presenting findings to senior stakeholders in a clear and compelling way.
The successful candidate will have advanced Excel and Power BI skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail and the confidence to influence decision-making through evidence-based insight. Experience of procurement, finance or NHS data would be advantageous.

The Procurement Insights and Performance Manager will lead the development and delivery of highquality procurement insight to support the effective management of nonpay expenditure and procurement activity.
The post holder will be responsible for improving the quality, consistency and use of procurement data, ensuring that appropriate data standards and governance arrangements are embedded within the procurement function, and that information is reliable fit for purpose, and aligned with the STSFT Group digital and information governance frameworks.
The role will provide meaningful, actionable insight into:
- nonpay spend and supplier performance
- procurement activity and workload
- delivery of savings, benefits and value
- prioritisation of effort and allocation of procurement resource
Drawing data from systems such as Oracle, NHS Supply Chain, Spend Comparison Service, Advise Inc and other procurement datasets, the post holder will develop Excel and Power BI outputs that enable procurement managers and senior stakeholders to understand where effort is being applied, what benefits are being realised, and where opportunities for improvement exist.
The post holder will work closely with procurement colleagues, finance, and system owners to translate complex data into clear narratives that support evidencebased decision making, continuous improvement, and delivery of the Procurement Strategy.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent level of relevant experience, supported by advanced specialist knowledge in data analysis business intelligence, procurement or financial performance management, acquired through significant post qualification experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and practical experience of Power BI or similar tools.
- Ability to interrogate validate and reconcile data from multiple sources.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to influence and challenge constructively using evidence.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- High level of curiosity, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Understanding of procurement and nonpay spend analysis.
- Knowledge of data quality principles and functional data governance.
- Understanding of performance management and the use of insight to drive improvement.
- Sound understanding of the principles that underpin continuity of supply, including risk awareness, mitigation, and proactive planning to minimise impact on patient care.
- Advanced knowledge of best practice project management.
- Extensive understanding of the principles of effective service change and modernisation.
- Awareness of NHS or public sector operating environments (desirable).
Experience
- Extensive experience operating as a recognised specialist in analysis, performance reporting or intelligence within a complex organisation.
- Experience of advising senior managers on interpretation of complex, sometimes ambiguous datasets to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Experience of improving data quality, structures or reporting within a function or service area.
- Experience of developing dashboards, reports and performance frameworks using Excel and/or Power BI.
- Experience of working with procurement or financial data (NHS or public sector desirable).
- Experience of working with multiple systems and reconciling data across sources.
- Evidence of on-going professional development on specialist courses.
Physical Skills
- Advanced keyboard skills and ability to work for prolonged periods using IT systems.
- Ability to accurately manipulate, analyse and present data using standard office and analytical software.
- Ability to travel between Trust sites as required.
