Content Creator Apprentice

The role is part of the wider Learning and Organisational Development Team and alongside our colleagues in People & HR to support Learning and Development and promote our learning content to the whole organisation. We are looking for a creative, self-motivated and detail orientated individual who is interested in a career in content production.

Role

The purpose of the role is to develop and create content that can be used across a variety of media in accordance with the City of London Corporation requirements. The post holder will contribute to Learning and Organisational Development projects and innovation design work to support organisational and departmental plans.

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge, and experience as you complete the Content Creator  Level 3 Apprenticeship. The successful candidate should be interested in communicating with audiences both internally and externally and creating exciting and engaging content for them, you should also have a strong interest in creating content ranging from e-Learning to marketing.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with L&OD Digital Officer to develop learning materials such as e-learning modules, presentations, training manuals, and videos
  • Ensure that the content being developed is organised, structured, and labelled effectively and in a logical manner that allows for efficient search and retrieval
  • Writing clear, engaging content tailored to the learning objectives and target audience. This could include writing scripts, storyboards, assessments, and other resources
  • Working together with experts, trainers, and others involved to collect ideas, opinions, and knowledge for improving learning materials and programs
  • Assisting in the management and maintenance of the learning management system, including uploading, organising, and updating learning materials
  • Actively engaging in continuous learning and development to enhance skills in content creation, instructional design, technology tools, and industry best practices
  • Handling the inbox, enquiries, feedback, and technical issues, while providing administrative support to the learning and development team
  • Effectively communicating with team members and stakeholders to convey information and updates
  • Support the Head of Learning and Organisational Development with projects relating to the Learning and Organisational Development work plan
  • Keep up to date with new learning and development technologies and methodologies

Training

  • You will be supported to achieve the Content Creator level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Theoretical training will be delivered by the training provider on a weekly basis
  • Practical training and support will be given in the workplace allowing you to embed your learning in the working environment. You will receive 6 hours per week to completed course work within your working hours
  • On successful completion of the apprenticeship, we aim to offer a permanent role within the team if a position is available
  • Alternatively, we shall endeavour to secure an alternative position within the City of London Corporation
