DISTRIBUTION CENTRE INVENTORY MANAGER
Location: Clarks Distribution Centre, Street Somerset
The Role:
The Inventory & Planning Manager provides leadership for inventory control, planning, stock integrity and warehouse optimisation activities across the distribution centre. The role ensures inventory accuracy, audit compliance, efficient warehouse utilisation and effective planning processes that support customer service, operational performance and financial control.
- Own inventory accuracy across WMS, SAP and automated storage systems.
- Lead cycle counts, stock audits and reconciliation processes.
- Investigate inventory variances and implement preventative actions.
- Manage warehouse location planning, capacity utilisation and stock positioning.
- Develop KPI reporting using Power BI, Excel and operational dashboards.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Merchandising and Supply Chain teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit standards and company procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce stock loss and improve productivity.
- Coach, develop and performance manage the Inventory team.
About You:
- Proven experience in inventory management, warehouse operations or supply chain planning.
- Strong knowledge of WMS and ERP systems including SAP.
- Advanced analytical skills with experience using Excel and Power BI.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and manage cross-functional relationships.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational and communication skills.
