Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (London Area)
We’re looking for someone to help drive key tech projects focused around Azure cloud solutions. This isn’t just about keeping things running — it’s about pushing cloud strategy forward, building smart solutions, and helping our infrastructure evolve with the business.
You’ll need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to quickly understand new systems, and confident translating business needs into real, working technical solutions. Bonus points if you love digging into complex challenges and turning them into organized, modern, cloud-optimized setups.
Our client recently moved their on-prem data centers to Azure — a big step forward — and now they’re ready to level up. That’s where you come in. You’ll be at the heart of this next phase, helping transform and fine-tune the new environment. We're looking for someone who's detail-oriented, proactive, technically solid, and not afraid to automate and optimize everything they can.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keep up with the latest in tech and continuously look for ways to improve
- Manage and maintain existing cloud systems
- Install and configure new systems as needed
- Keep documentation up to date and useful
- Monitor system performance and tackle issues before they become problems
- Stay on top of patches, updates, and security requirements
- Act as an escalation point for tricky issues from the service desk and IT teams
- Design and implement cloud solutions that meet business needs
- Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and integrators
- Communicate clearly with everyone from execs to end-users
- Lead the charge when critical incidents come up
- Support cloud-native development projects and tools
- Bring a strong sense of ownership and a “get it done” attitude
Who We’re Looking For
- A tech-savvy pro with a degree in an engineering or tech-related field
- 5+ years working in cloud infrastructure
- Bonus if you’re certified (like Azure Solution Architect Expert)
- You’ve done cloud migrations before — both lift-and-shift and app refactoring
- You know Infrastructure as Code like the back of your hand
- Solid grasp of cloud infra: VDI, networking, security, DevSecOps
- Cost-aware mindset when building or scaling cloud services
- Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines
- Comfortable learning new tools and doing deep technical research
- Skilled at working across departments and with both business and tech leaders
- Familiar with ITIL practices like change management
- Able to juggle complex projects and bring them to the finish line
- A strong communicator who’s good with both written and verbal updates
- Detail-oriented, organized, and resilient under pressure
- Comfortable with flexible hours and occasional after-hours work
- Experience in finance/private equity is a big plus
- Bonus if you've worked with global teams in multiple time zones
Tech Stack You’ll Be Using
- Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, VDI
- Active Directory, Intune, Exchange, Office 365
- Patching/vulnerability management, certs
- General networking knowledge (on-prem & cloud)
- ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence
- Familiarity with frameworks like TOGAF or ArchiMate is helpful
