Physical Security Manager – Operations

Hybrid into the London office with international travel

Competitive Salary + Bonus + Healthcare + Pension

About the Role

Protecting our people, customers, assets, infrastructure, and information is critical to how we operate. This role owns the operational delivery of physical security across the business — combining security operations, risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement to keep sites safe and resilient.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Physical Security Manager to lead physical security operations across our clients sites, working closely with Operations, Legal, Health & Safety, IT, and external agencies to ensure security supports business resilience without compromising customer experience.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Security Operations: Own site security procedures and post orders; conduct security inspections, audits, and assurance activities; oversee access control, visitor management, and key/asset handling.
  • Access Control & Surveillance: Oversee enterprise access control and CCTV platforms, ensuring systems are maintained, tested, and operational; support technology upgrades and new site deployments.
  • Incident Management: Lead responses to security incidents and emergencies; investigate theft, unauthorised access, and other security events; produce reports and corrective action plans; liaise with law enforcement where required.
  • Risk & Compliance: Conduct physical security risk assessments; monitor geopolitical and emerging threats; support certification and audit activity (ISO 27001, SOC 2, customer security audits).
  • Vendor Management: Manage contracted guarding providers, SLAs/KPIs, and supplier performance reviews; manage security budgets within delegated authority.
  • Business Continuity: Support crisis management, emergency exercises, and site resilience testing.
  • Customer Support: Support customer security audits and due diligence visits, providing security advice during onboarding.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years' progressive experience managing physical security in a mission-critical environment (data centres, utilities, defence, aviation, or similar); senior management level and above, ideally supporting hyperscale/enterprise customers
  • Experience negotiating and managing supplier/service contracts, and building successful teams in a growth, pan-European environment
  • Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems
  • Experience with incident investigation, risk assessment, and security auditing
  • Familiarity with hyperscale or colocation data centres and AI-ready/high-density computing environments
  • Financially astute, with experience managing opex/capex budgets
  • Comfortable working internationally, building senior relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners
  • Willingness to be available to support major incidents outside standard hours
  • ASIS CPP or PSP certification required; project management experience desirable
