Data Platform Manager

Our client is currently recruiting for a Data Platform Manager role on a 2 month contract. The Data Platform Manager will be both hands-on and strategic, responsible for the management and oversight of the organisation's data platforms, including data integration, data warehouse, data and insight presentation, and analytical solutions.

The Data Platform Manager will have experience of working across cloud based data platforms including MS Fabric, AWS and Informatica and will be responsible for managing the relationship with external vendors.

Key Responsibilities for the Data Platform Manager

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple data platforms, ensuring continuous stability, high availability, and performance across Microsoft Fabric, AWS, and Informatica environments.
  • Implement and manage proactive monitoring solutions to anticipate and resolve issues before they impact business operations.
  • Establish and enforce SLAs for platform performance, uptime, and data availability to meet the organisation's operational and strategic needs.

Key Experience for the Data Platform Manager

  • Technical Expertise: Expert in cloud-based data platforms (Microsoft Fabric, AWS, Informatica), data architecture, and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to define roadmaps, optimize costs, and ensure ROI from platform investments.
  • Operational Excellence: Expertise in maintaining platform reliability, performance, and security while troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Strong collaboration with vendors, internal product teams, and stakeholders to align with business goals.
  • Leadership: Effective leadership in a matrixed environment, mentoring team members, and driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing platform implementations, migrations, and Agile delivery methods.
