Automation Engineer (DP Storage, Python, Bash, Ansible, Puppet)
Storage Data Protection Automation Engineer - 8 months+ - Umbrella £475-£525 p/d - Hybrid UK wide base locations
We're looking for an experienced Data Protection Automation Engineer to support enterprise-scale storage and backup platforms within a large banking environment. You'll design and deliver automation, reporting, and monitoring across critical data protection services, while providing engineering expertise on core backup technologies.
Office base locations available: London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Edinburgh
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test and support automation for data protection services
- Develop reporting and monitoring capabilities for automated solutions
- Provide engineering support for enterprise data protection platforms
- Evaluate products, new features and versions
- Produce clear technical documentation
- Mentor junior engineers
To apply you should have the following skills & experience:
- 10+ years software development experience (Python, Bash)
- 5+ years automation and orchestration with Ansible (Red Hat)
- 5+ years automation and orchestration with Puppet
- Strong experience designing and consuming REST APIs
- DevOps tooling: GitHub, Jenkins, CloudBees
- Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence
- Strong hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup
- Strong hands-on experience with Commvault
Environment: Enterprise storage, SAN, data centre, evergreen and migration programmes within a regulated financial services environment.
