The role:
Our client, a leading global manufacturer renowned for developing and delivering high-quality products and solutions, is seeking a Senior IT Technician to join their team.

Main Duties of the Senior IT Technician:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software and network-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
  • Monitor system health to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability of IT services.
  • Contribute to IT initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Uphold data security standards and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to junior technicians and the broader IT support team.
  • Administer and troubleshoot backup systems to ensure data integrity and recovery readiness.

The ideal Senior IT Technician will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Background in IT support or systems administration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNA, ITIL Foundation) would be helpful.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry and with SAP ERP is advantageous


Technical Skills required:

  • Operating Systems: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Windows 10/11
  • Server Applications: SQL Server
  • Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, firewalls, routing and switching
  • Virtualization & Clustering: Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Directory Services: Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Email & Collaboration: Microsoft 365, Intune, SharePoint, Teams
  • Security Tools: Endpoint protection, MFA
  • Backup & Recovery: Veeam, Backup Exec, Windows Backup, cloud-based backup solutions
  • Scripting & Automation: PowerShell
  • ITSM Tools: ServiceNow
  • Hardware: Servers, desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, VoIP systems, CCTV
