Shipping Manager - Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated International Shipping Manager for a manufacturing business based in Chertsey, Surrey. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of export shipping operations across numerous markets worldwide, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness of every shipment. As the lead of a team of team the successful candidate will take full ownership of the department’s processes, optimise the use of the company's ERP system during its migration to IFS Cloud, and drive automation initiatives within the logistics function. Your responsibilities will include managing carrier relationships, negotiating service agreements, and maintaining rigorous export documentation standards to support B2B and B2C deliveries to over 150 countries. A key part of this role involves shaping and implementing new procedures, leading change management, and supporting the integration of a TMS/carrier platform to improve efficiency and reduce manual work. You will also act as the escalation point for complex shipments and customer disputes, providing leadership and guidance to ensure seamless operations..

• Proven UK export experience across multiple countries, working with both B2B and B2C models.
• Strong knowledge of UK export documentation, customs procedures, HS classification, and Incoterms 2020.
• Hands-on ERP experience, preferably with shipping or logistics modules, and experience with TMS or carrier management platforms.
• Experience leading systems implementation, such as IFS Cloud or SAP, including requirements gathering, testing, and go-live support.
• Excellent communication skills, organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure.
