3rd Line Cloud Engineer (Azure + On-prem)

💰 £50-60,000 base plus KPI bonus

📍 Fully remote

Company & role

This opportunity sits within a well established and fast growing Microsoft solutions provider supporting SME, enterprise and public sector customers with modernising and transforming their IT environments. The organisation continues to expand its Microsoft cloud capability and is investing further in its support function.

They are looking for a customer facing 3rd Line Cloud Engineer to join their Microsoft support team, acting as a senior escalation point for Azure and infrastructure issues across a broad customer base.

Why This Role Stands Out

You will work across a variety of Azure and Infrastructure environments rather than sitting in a narrow support queue. The role offers strong technical exposure, customer interaction and the chance to deepen your Azure expertise within a growing Microsoft focused practice.

The position is fully remote and sits within a collaborative technical team that values knowledge sharing and continuous development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of 3rd line support issues across Azure and on premises environments through to resolution
  • Act as a senior escalation point for Microsoft cloud and infrastructure related incidents
  • Communicate clearly with customers throughout the ticket lifecycle via phone, email and Teams
  • Manage and prioritise support tickets while coordinating with internal teams and third parties
  • Support hybrid infrastructure environments connecting on premises systems with Azure services
  • Contribute to the internal knowledge base and support wider team development

Ideal Experience

  • Strong hands on experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments
  • Experience with Azure networking including VNets, NSGs, VPNs and ExpressRoute
  • Knowledge of Azure storage services and core infrastructure components
  • Strong Windows infrastructure experience including Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Linux experience ideally across Debian or Ubuntu
  • Virtualisation experience including Hyper V, Azure Virtual Desktop or similar platforms
  • Exposure to monitoring and management tools such as SCCM, SCOM or Windows Admin Center would be beneficial
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers in a technical support environment
