Senior Functional Consultant

Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant who understands manufacturing inside out. You'll lead end-to-end implementations, translate operational challenges into smart D365 solutions, and guide clients through process improvements across the full manufacturing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workshops to understand manufacturing workflows (MTS/MTO, discrete/process, shop floor operations, planning, costing, quality, warehousing).
  • Design and deliver D365 Business Central solutions aligned to best practice.
  • Own functional documentation: requirements, solution design, configuration guides, test scripts.
  • Configure and customise D365 modules relating to production, planning, inventory, and supply chain.
  • Work closely with technical teams on integrations, data migration, extensions, and customisations.
  • Support system testing, UAT, go-live, and post-deployment optimisation.
  • Advise clients on process improvement opportunities and future-proofing their manufacturing setup.
  • Mentor junior consultants and support project governance.

Core Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Senior D365 Functional Consultant (Business Central).
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of key manufacturing modules:
  • Production Orders / Manufacturing Execution
  • MRP / MPS
  • Inventory & Warehouse
  • BOMs & Routings
  • Quality Management
  • Product Configuration
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end manufacturing processes and industry best practices.
  • Experience delivering mid-to-large implementations in a consulting environment.
  • Ability to run workshops, gather requirements, map processes, and challenge client assumptions.
  • Confident working with technical teams and explaining functional logic.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ISVs commonly used in manufacturing.
  • Certifications in D365 Business Central.
  • Exposure to Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement.
