Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic SMB Account Manager to drive growth by managing and expanding relationships with small and medium-sized business clients in the UK. This role involves managing the full SMB sales cycle, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored cloud solutions that align with client needs.

The ideal candidate is confident in a client-facing role, has strong B2B sales or account management experience, and thrives in a fast-paced SMB environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the SMB sales cycle from prospecting through to deal closure.
  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities through networking, referrals, and outbound activities, converting them into long-term partnerships.
  • Support CloudPlexo's sales and growth objectives by contributing to new SMB customer acquisition.
  • Provide professional after-sales support to maximize customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to understand and meet their business and cloud needs.
  • Respond to client complaints and resolve issues effectively to maintain CloudPlexo's reputation.
  • Negotiate agreements, pricing, and terms, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Share insights and ideas to attract new SMB clients and keep senior management informed about market trends and competitor activity.
  • Identify and develop additional business opportunities within existing SMB accounts.
  • Build, maintain, and update a prospective client database.
  • Conduct cold calls and outreach to generate new business leads.
  • Support the preparation of business proposals and sales presentations.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of CloudPlexo's products and service offerings, particularly cloud and managed services.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at various levels within SMB organisations.
  • Proven experience managing SMB clients, startups, or growing businesses.
  • 4-5 years of experience in sales or account management, preferably within the software, cloud, or technology services industry.
  • Previous experience in Software and Cloud Services is highly desirable.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Confident, articulate, and well accustomed to a client-facing role.
  • Exceptional negotiation, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
