Location: Norwich (Hybrid – 2–3 days in the office)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced PHP / Laravel Developer to join our growing development team in Norwich. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative web applications and platforms, playing a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance solutions.
You will be involved in the full development lifecycle — from planning and requirements gathering to coding, deployment, and ongoing optimisation. Working closely with designers, product managers, and fellow developers, you’ll help deliver high-quality digital products that drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, test, and maintain web applications using PHP (Laravel framework).
- Build clean, efficient, and reusable code that meets best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver seamless solutions.
- Integrate APIs, third-party services, and databases.
- Optimise applications for performance, scalability, and security.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across projects.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
- Proven experience as a PHP Developer, ideally with 3+ years of commercial experience.
- Strong knowledge of Laravel and its ecosystem.
- Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
- Good understanding of software architecture and MVC principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with Vue.js, React, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar).
- Experience with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest).
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Competitive salary of £40,000 – £45,000 depending on experience.
