Platform Engineer- Databricks

We're hiring on behalf of a major energy organisation undergoing a significant data platform transformation. As a Platform Engineer, you'll take ownership of their Databricks and Microsoft Fabric estate — driving platform reliability, infrastructure modernisation, and operational excellence across cloud-native data services.

This is an immediate requirement with multiple positions available across UK-based and hybrid working arrangements.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the build, maintenance, and upgrade of enterprise Databricks platforms, championing best practices and operational standards
  • Designing and implementing Microsoft Fabric infrastructure with a focus on performance, cost-efficiency, and security compliance
  • Provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible across Azure and AWS environments
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Git for continuous platform delivery
  • Collaborating with cross-functional platform and engineering teams to deliver resilient, scalable data solutions
  • Engaging with business stakeholders to translate platform complexity into clear, customer-centric outcomes

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years in SysAdmin, Operations, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering managing complex, production-grade systems
  • 2+ years of hands-on Databricks experience within Azure or AWS environments, including Unity Catalog and Data Factory
  • Strong PySpark, Python, and Linux scripting skills applied in production settings
  • Solid proficiency with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric — designing, building, and owning the implementation of platform infrastructure
  • Familiarity with cloud networking principles and secure platform integration patterns
  • Comfortable working across Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows Server/PowerShell environments
  • Clear communicator, able to engage diverse stakeholders and articulate technical concepts accessibly
